The race for the coveted JOF U-13 Football Tournament title has reached its decisive stage, with Soccer City FA, VI Foot FC, Ultimate FA and Fortune FA securing places in the semi-finals of the 2026 edition of the competition.
Organised by the Lagos State Grassroots Football Association and principally sponsored by JOF Nigeria Limited, a leading manufacturing and supply chain services company, the tournament has once again provided a platform for identifying and nurturing emerging football talents across Lagos State.
The 7th edition of the competition, which commenced on February 6, featured 64 clubs drawn from 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state. A total of 84 matches were played across three venues, showcasing the depth of grassroots football talent in Lagos.
Speaking ahead of the semi-finals, the Managing Director, Transportation Division, JOF Nigeria Limited, and Chairman of the JOF U-13 Football Tournament Organising Committee, Mr. Adeyinka Adetunji, described this year’s edition as one of the most exciting and highly anticipated in the tournament’s history.
According to him, the competition has continued to fulfil its objective of discovering, developing and promoting young football talents, while providing a pathway for future stars to showcase their abilities.
The semi-final matches are scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 6, at the CMS Primary School Playing Ground, Bariga, in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Semi-Final Fixtures
1:00 p.m. – Soccer City FA (Iwaya) vs. VI Foot FC (Ijora)
2:00 p.m. – Ultimate FA (Coker) vs. Fortune FA (Oshodi)
With a place in the final at stake, football enthusiasts are expected to witness keenly contested encounters as the four teams battle for supremacy and the opportunity to compete for the championship title.
Meanwhile, organisers have announced that a press conference will be held on June 16 at the corporate headquarters of JOF Nigeria Limited in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event will formally unveil the finalists for the 2026 edition and provide details of the grand finale, including the date, venue and awards to be presented at the championship match.
