As anticipation mounts for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, StarTimes Nigeria has launched a nationwide “Watch & Win” promotion, offering N10 million in prizes to subscribers as part of efforts to enhance the viewing experience during the global football tournament.

The promotion, which commenced on June 18 and will run until July 31, 2026, was unveiled at a media conference held at the Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. It is designed to reward loyal subscribers while providing football enthusiasts across the country with access to comprehensive coverage of the tournament.

Speaking at the event, the Marketing Director of StarTimes Nigeria, Oke Umurhohwo, disclosed that subscribers across all bouquet categories would have access to live broadcasts of all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

According to him, the company has dedicated two channels exclusively to World Cup coverage to ensure uninterrupted access to the tournament.

“With a subscription of just N4,000, our customers will be able to watch all 104 FIFA World Cup matches live,” Umurhohwo said.

He explained that the “Watch & Win” initiative is aimed at rewarding customers for their loyalty and commitment to the StarTimes brand.

“To participate in the promotion, subscribers are required to subscribe to any StarTimes bouquet with a minimum recharge of N4,000 or purchase a StarTimes decoder/disc or StarTimes Solar package. Every participant stands a chance of winning the grand prize of N10 million, in addition to several consolation prizes. Winners will be selected through a transparent and automated process,” he stated.

Umurhohwo further announced that new subscribers would enjoy discounts of up to 44 per cent on selected StarTimes products throughout the World Cup period.

He also revealed plans by the company to organise World Cup watch parties in selected cities across Nigeria, providing football fans with an opportunity to enjoy the tournament in a lively and engaging atmosphere.

“We are committed to delivering an exceptional viewing experience for our subscribers during the World Cup. The watch parties will complement our broadcast coverage and create memorable moments for football enthusiasts across the country,” he added.

Also speaking, the Sales Director (Lagos), Onyebuchi Uchefuna, highlighted the company’s growth and nationwide expansion since commencing operations in Nigeria in 2009.

According to him, StarTimes currently provides services across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, while maintaining a strong commitment to affordability, accessibility, and customer satisfaction.

“Since inception, our customers have remained at the centre of our operations. Despite Nigeria’s absence from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we recognised the importance of the tournament to millions of Nigerians and made significant efforts to secure the broadcast rights,” Uchefuna said.

On his part, the Advert Sales Director, Seun Oyedokun, disclosed that StarTimes would provide extensive studio programming throughout the tournament, including pre-match and post-match analysis to enrich viewers’ understanding of the games.

He added that subscribers would also be able to watch matches on mobile devices through the StarTimes application, ensuring convenient access to World Cup content regardless of location.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be the largest edition in the competition’s history, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches, StarTimes Nigeria says it is well positioned to deliver comprehensive coverage while rewarding subscribers through one of its most ambitious promotional campaigns to date.
