The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has achieved a historic milestone as it becomes the first state-owned hospital to be accredited for the Dietetics and Nutrition internship programme in Lagos State.
This accreditation further strengthens LASUTH’s reputation as a leading centre for clinical excellence, research, and professional training in the health sector.
With this approval, LASUTH is now authorized to train 50 Dietetics and Nutrition interns annually, offering graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic teaching hospital environment. The programme will equip interns with advanced knowledge and practical exposure in clinical nutrition, therapeutic diet planning, community nutrition, and evidence-based patient care.
This accreditation reflects the hospital’s commitment to developing a highly skilled healthcare workforce and improving the standard of nutrition and dietetic services across Lagos State and Nigeria at large. It also aligns with LASUTH’s broader mission of delivering world-class healthcare while fostering the growth of multidisciplinary professionals equipped to address evolving public health challenges.
