She highlighted that the presence of the Honourable Commissioners—whom she described as indomitable and indefatigable—underscored the significance the Commission attaches to the visit.

Hon. Omidiran reiterated the core mandate of the Federal Character Commission, stressing its constitutional responsibility to promote national unity, inclusiveness, and equity across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). She stated that effective governance and the success of the present administration depend largely on inter-institutional collaboration, adding that the support and cooperation of MDAs, including the Treasury House, would greatly enhance the Commission’s operational efficiency. Dr. Ogunjimi acknowledged the pivotal role of the Federal Character Commission in nation-building, affirming that the work of the Treasury House would not be seamless without the Commission’s oversight and enforcement of the Federal Character Principle. He emphasized that compliance with established recruitment guidelines remains fundamental to transparency, fairness, and national cohesion.
He further assured the Executive Chairman of the Treasury House’s continued partnership with the Commission, particularly in matters relating to recruitment processes and adherence to federal character requirements. He disclosed that the Federal Character Commission would be an integral part of the team responsible for the nationwide biometric exercise of staff, to ensure effectiveness, accuracy, and compliance.
The Accountant-General expressed his gratitude to Hon. Omidiran and her entourage for the visit and reaffirmed the Treasury House’s commitment to sustained collaboration.
The courtesy visit concluded successfully in a cordial atmosphere, reinforcing the shared commitment of both institutions to accountability, inclusiveness, and good governance.
